The Stag
To the Celts the deer represented grace, swiftness and gentleness they believed it to be the oldest creature in existence. The stag a symbol of growth, often a messenger and guide from other worlds was associated with Cernnunos, horned god of nature and hunting. Cernnunos was god of fertility, consort of Mother Earth.
