The decorative mailboxes above were inspired by visitors to my backyard. A red fox visited to eat the crab apples fallen from the tree. Sometimes there was only an hour between white tail deer leaving, after coming for the same purpose, and the fox arriving!
Squirrels run riot in my backyard all year round so I have plenty of models to choose from! However, one of the squirrels I painted I came across in a town park. Not as timid as the ones in my back yard, it was only a few feet away and turned its back as I approached as if to say “This is mine!”
