Leaping Fox - Hand Painted Box
The subject of many a folk tale renowned for its cunning and ability to “out-fox” the hounds of the hunt the red fox is not just a country fox. Many a suburban backyard plays host to the fox, we just don't always see them if they come calling at night.
This hand painted box has a red fox leaping to catch a small mouse it heard moving in the grass. You can see the mouse hiding on the side of the box. A red fox will listen for movement of small mammals in the undergrowth, leap on the spot they hear the sound from and pin the prey with their forepaws.

This hand painted box has been decorated using acrylic paint then given a protective coat of acrylic lacquer. An ideal store for little trinkets or sweeties. |
