Bear Hand Painted Box
A roomy box useful for storing all kinds of treasures in. A bear in three different winter scenes decorates this hand painted box. The designs are burned into the wood before hand painting. The inside base of the box is lined with felt and a gold coloured chain has been added to protect the hinges. The outside of the box was then given a coat of acrylic laquer to give a glossy sheen and help protect the surface.
This bear hand painted box I call the “Ice Bear Box” maybe for obvious reasons. I think the memory of Michigan winters - soon to be here again - and my love of bears inspired this hand painted box. A rather lonely looking bear walking through the snow or watching the ice form on the lake. Getting ready to hibernate in a snug cave one hopes!
