Some Celtic myths tell of the boar leading hunters to the otherworld. The wild boar was also sacred to the goddess Arduinna. The Celts saw the boar as a symbol of fearlessness, strength and strong warriors. The boar was depicted on coins and artefacts more than all animals except for the horse.
